A globally leading brand in computer peripherals and IoT products company engaged our team to reimagine the product portfolio and innovations within their core business of hardware and software, keeping in mind the evolving needs and expectations of the tech-savvy user base in India.
Project Brief
The client sought to gain a deeper understanding of Indian market customers' behaviors and latent needs from a future strategy perspective (2030-2035 horizon). The goal was to inform decisions about the product portfolio and identify opportunity spaces that aligned with emerging realities and the shifting consumer mindset, particularly in the Indian context.
Our Approach
Our research was grounded in a combination of strategic foresight and design thinking methodologies, which prioritize a human-centered approach. We looked at the India data from 2030-2035, emerging concerns and phenomena in India, and lastly, mapping the trend signals across emerging technology, society, and the industry. This comprehensive analysis allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the evolving landscape and its implications for the client's business.
We began with an extensive scan of over 600 India-centric and sector-specific data points and signals, mapping the various aspects of the ecosystem and identifying the key factors at play. This enabled us to generate a comprehensive line of inquiry for stakeholder interactions.
Internal Workshops
To further refine our understanding, we conducted a workshop with a team of 25 internal stakeholders. The ideation workshop with the internal team included trigger cards and multiple stimuli probes which emerged from the research methodology of the project at Turian Labs. These collaborative workshops allowed us to synthesize the gathered insights, and identify six key opportunity areas.
Key Discoveries and Client Impact
The final output included a strategic foresight report that delved into the problems, emerging phenomena, and trends shaping India's landscape from 2030 to 2035. Each opportunity area in the strategy report highlighted drivers of change, trends, and scenarios ending with a glimpse of the future. The foresight report ended with the Opportunity Relevance Matrix, which included parameters, implications, and enablers to inform the decision-making process.
Additionally, we produced a series of five informative videos to facilitate the easy dissemination of the project's findings within the client's organization. These videos provided a concise and engaging overview of the strategic opportunity areas and key insights and implications.
