RPG Innovation summit
Background
Our team at Turian Labs participated in the RPG Innovation summit which showcased top ideas by companies across CEAT, RPG Life sciences, KEC International, Raychem RPG and Zensar. Ideas ranged across drones for inspection, optimizing claim settlement trial, and changing the tablet composition from the pharma domain, to highlight a few. Turian Labs was the only outside entity invited to be a part of this event. Our team showcased how an innovation leap can be taken using Future Thinking and Design Thinking.
WHY FUTURES THINKING?
Design Thinking helps you to decode a user’s unarticulated needs, but has its own share of limitations when it comes to future-proofing solutions. This is where Future Thinking comes into play, to help anticipate the future needs of the clients today, and stay relevant and ahead of the curve.
Approach
Since we had a short window of interaction with visitors, we gamified our interactions using trend cards. These trend cards were created based on our knowledge of studying Megatrends, panning across domains & geographies. Going beyond the macroeconomic indicators by taking into account the societal as well as cultural influences, our trend cards allow teams to ideate in a non-linear manner.
Participants were given a quick immersion into the Futures Thinking methodology and were taken through a few examples. They were also briefed on how trend cards help think in a non-linear manner, and enable users to take a leap of faith. Participants were then provided with a problem statement about ‘Workplace Wellness’ and were asked to ideate using the trend levers. We came across some interesting solutions in that short interaction window, and were able to convey the power of using trend cards in a real-time business environment.
