Megatrends & Futures strategy for Government of Dubai

We worked with Dubai government on megatrends-driven opportunity mapping for 2033. Dubai is doing a fantastic job of exploring the boundaries of future for the emirate and its people with a dedicated team studying the future in scientific way. Dubai generates less than 1% of its revenue from oil and close to 90% population is expats (50% are from India). Every 10 years the population has doubled in the past few decades. It is accelerating now. You think of an emerging arena of knowledge today, and there is some institution working on it in Dubai from coral reef protection to genomics and from cosmetic surgeries to space sciences. There is a ministry dedicated to Artificial Intelligence...and one also for 'Happiness'. Surviving in a desert where over 90% food is imported is a big driver for push for innovation.

While Turian Labs creates it’s own global trend report every year, we built a Dubai centered megatrends report sifting through 500 trend signals and 50 trends assimilated from other online sources. We set up a collaborative workshop with the stakeholders across government departments to extract a few key opportunities with the horizon of 2033 in focus.

We went further ahead to deliver ‘Opportunity Canvas’ to detail out and viability and SWOT for each of the opportunity.
